Listen here: Questionable Nature by Denis Romanov

When she comes out of the bar
With her body gliding slowly, weightless
Like a feather through the air
On her tiptoes, speaking in a hushed tone
God forbid, she will break the dead night quietness
And then you're wondering how else could she impress
Your burning mind after that melancholy dance
That she was doing to the blues

And you're surprised to recall that this is
The first time that you have met her
And your chest is trembling with anticipation
While she is calm and she is patient
Already knowing all there is to know about you
And mind you boy there is nothing you can hide

Slow walk through the park
Where steps are echoing through the dark trees
And birds sound quite obscene
With their flirting calls or so it seems
And bring to mind a thought or two, or even three,
Of questionable nature

Like what if she is a werewolf
You couldn't help but notice that tonight the moon is full,
Not that you minded if she put her fangs into you
But on a lovely night like this it would be quite cruel,
And quite regrettable
And as she catches this thought, she smiles as if to reassure you
She's not going to

At the very least she's a witch
But not the kind of witch you read about in the tales
And that explains why at the bar you thought it was kind of cool
That she would get herself bourbon and Aperol
Bourbon, soda and Aperol
And no matter how much she drank she wouldn't get drunk at all

Now it must be past the last call
And you've walked up to her apartment on the second floor
She leaves it dark and you're surrounded by objects you wouldn't even know
The breeze is coming softly stirring curtains through the window
And in the low seeping light of a street lamp you can see her glow
